LOOP RECORDING
Loop Recording continuously records video, making it ideal for situations where most footage isn't crucial, but you still need the ability to access recent clips of essential moments. NOTE: Loop Recording is available only for Prism Encoders in Next-Gen Encoder Mode.
1. Click the Input/Encoding tab, and set Encoder Mode to Next-Gen.
2. Click the Recording tab, and set Recording to Enabled.
3. Enter a Recording Name.
4. Set Auto-Record to Disabled.
5. Set Loop Recording to Enabled.
Configure the Encoding and Recording parameters carefully to ensure the drive does not run out of space. Note that the Loop Recording feature does not prevent the drive from running out of storage. You can avoid this issue by considering the following calculation:
(Video Bitrate per Second * 60) * Max Size Time in Minutes * Max Files < Drive Storage.
6. Enter Max Size Time (Minutes): This is the maximum time allowed per file before creating a new file for loop recording.
7. Enter Max Files: This sets the maximum number of files allowed per cycle before triggering an index rollover, where new files overwrite existing ones with the same name.
8. Scroll down and select a drive from the dropdown menu, then click Save.
