This guide applies to Next-Gen Mode only (2.22)

Prism Rack, Prism Duplex, Prism Flex, and Prism Mobile support recording in different capacities including NFS, SD Card, USB Drive, and NVME.

RECORDING SETTINGS

  • Recording - Enable/Disable the recording function
  • Recording Name - Sets the recording file name.  Uses wildcards to name the files with various information
    • $PN (Product Name)

  • Format
    • Transport Stream - Great for non-corruptible video
    • MP4 - Great compatibility with Camera to Cloud.  Will corrupt if the recording is interrupted.
    • MKV - OpenSource efficient container.
    • MOV - Classic Apple Compatible Container.
  • Auto-Record
    • Disabled - Manually trigger the recording from the front panel, app, or webui
    • On Camera Event - Uses Camera record flags to trigger recording
    • On Streaming Event - Uses RTMP based Start / Stop streaming flags to start the recording
  • Timecode - Enables timecode in the recording.  
    • Only supported in MP4, MKV, and MOV.
    • Recommended the framerate be set to auto as the input framerate must match the encoding framerate for timecode to match.
  • Multi-Interface Recording Uploads - Allows uploading over multiple modems, wifi, and wired connections to supported services.
  • Loop Recording - Continuously records video and sets the file size to a pre-determined number of minutes.
    • Max Size Time - Maximum time allowed per file before creating a new file.
    • Max Files - This sets the maximum number of files allowed per cycle before triggering an index rollover, where new files overwrite existing ones with the same name. This is ensures space is saved.  144 files would be 1440 minutes of files.

DRIVE

RECORDING CONSIDERATIONS
Recordings are triggered manually or automatically. If Auto-Record is enabled in the
Recording Settings, a new recording is automatically created when a broadcast starts.

  • There are no known limits on the size of SD cards
  • For best results, use Class 6 or higher SD cards.
  • SD Card or USB Media should be formatted using FAT32 or ExFAT.
  • File size is limited to 4GB for FAT32 formatted cards.
  • New recordings are automatically started after the file size limit is reached.

Selector - The drive section if for selecting the recording destination when recording is enabled. This selector will show all valid SD Cards, USB drives, NVME Drives, and  NFS Mounts

Format - Formats the attached drive into exFAT and makes it compatible with the Prism

Eject - Properly ejects the drive from the Prism system

Mounting an NFS

  1. Click NFS under the Drive section.
  2. Enter the host address and share, then click Mount.

SYNC RECORDINGS WITH CORE

NOTE: Prism must be linked to Core before you can sync your recordings.

The Prism allows you to sync all new recordings with Core.  This will upload new files to Core on the device's primary interface. Once you have recordings setup you can turn on "Sync with Core"

Upload Folder - The folder in Core to which the recordings will be written.

+ - Create a new folder in Core from the Prism

Refresh - Pulls a new list of folders from Core
