Recording to an SD card or USB storage devices with the Vidiu X

Updated on

Overview

The Vidiu X can record to SD media or to a USB storage device.

  • Only one recording media target is supported at a time, either a single USB device or a single SD card; it is not possible to record to multiple destinations at the same time.
  • The recording settings are the same as the encoding settings configured on the Vidiu X; it's not possible to have independent recording and streaming settings.
  • When a recording is complete, be sure to use the front panel / web UI / Vidiu app to eject the storage device before removing it from the Vidiu X so that the recording is not corrupted.
  • Likewise, when removing the storage device from a computer, be sure to use the appropriate method to eject the SD card or USB storage device from the Windows / macOS / Linux system so that the storage device doesn't get corrupted and remains usable by the Vidiu X.

Supported SD cards:

The following SD card form factors are supported:

  • SD (up to 2 GB)
  • SDHC (4 to 32 GB)
  • SDXC (64 GB and larger)
