Connect a Sony PXW-Z280V to Sony C3 Portal

Sony PXW-Z280V Capabilities

The Sony PXV-Z280V can stream and transfer files to the Sony C3 Portal service with the help of Multiple Nodes.

How to Configure:

1. Ensure your camera's time is set correctly.
2. Configure your Nodes with valid cellular connections using the Teradek Node Manager for Windows.
3. Attach your Node(s) to the Sony PXW-Z280V via the USB ports.

4. Navigate to Menu > Network > Modem (assuming you have already set up Access Authentication) and turn the modem setting to "On." The camcorder will prompt you to disable other functions to enable network connection through the Node modem.

The modems should power on and eventually establish a connection. Remember that the IP addresses must be in different subnets, which is necessary for multi-path transmission. Note the two connection lights on the top left.

4. Once the modems are connected, return to the Network page and select Network Client Mode. Set this option to "On" and navigate to NCM Settings 1 (you can choose any NCM settings you prefer).

5. In the Sony C3 Portal, navigate to Settings > Credentials and enter the transmitter address, port (usually 8443), and username. Ensure all information is accurate. Click "Set," and the camera will attempt to connect. If the NCM letters blink with an X, check your entries and try again.

6. In the Sony C3 Portal under Settings > Transmitter, a new entry will appear with the model name “PXW-Z280V.” Name and group your transmitter, then save the settings. You can now use the Sony C3 Portal as usual.
