Data Plan:

Make sure your plan is compatible with Data Devices.  This usually means something like “Mobile Internet” or hotspot plan.  Some carriers care, and some don’t.  Please check with your carrier.

Register your IMEI

Some countries and carriers require you to register your IMEI on their allow list . The IMEI is listed on your Node II or you can find it in the Web interface of your encoder in the network section.   

For example, carriers in Chile and other South American countries will allow the device to function for 30 days before terminating service for an unregistered IMEI.

Enter your APN

Many countries/carriers may not have auto APN service with the Node II.  If your Node II doesn’t connect in auto mode then enter your APN in Custom/Manual mode in the Teradek Encoder Web UI under Network.  The Prism platform will enter the APN into the first PDP context of the Node (except for Verizon in the U.S.) and the Node will attempt to connect over that APN.

Authentication

While rare, some carriers may require authentication.  Get your credentials and connection information from your carrier and enter them in the Teradek Encoder Web UI under network.

IPV6 - XLAT464

Some countries might only assign IPv6 to a Node II modem.  However, Teradek encoders and bonding only support IPv4 at this time.  When using Generic MBN Profile, you can enable xlat464 which creates a IPv6 to IPv4 network for use by the Teradek Encoder and other devices.  Examples of carriers that use IPv6 for carrier connections are T-mobile in the U.S.,  EE in the UK, and Vivo in Brazil.  Teradek has made some effort to handle these carriers on the Prism platform in auto mode.
